GALLERIES: People & Places: :: Zhejiang Province, Eastern China ::

In November 2009 I was invited to curate an exhibition for the 13th International Photographic Art Exhibition in Lishui China. I brought the fine work of photographer Christopher LaMarca to show and two point and shoot cameras for myself to play with. Traveling for once as a tourist and without any assignment or agenda, I wandered the historic towns and villages that are quickly transforming into a modern industrial landscape.

My ongoing enthusiasiam for NGO and editorial assignments abroad comes from my concern for social and environmental issues worldwide, but also a more simple passion for learning more about faraway people and places and how they live. Most of my foriegn documentary assignments include time spent documenting this context for the issues that I'm covering and I often take additional time to travel on my own as well.
