In 2009 I spent a month in Central Kalimantan (Indonesian Borneo) photographing life in the small villages and central cities along the edge of one of the worlds most important orangutan habitat protected areas.

My ongoing enthusiasiam for NGO and editorial assignments abroad comes from my concern for social and environmental issues worldwide, but also a more simple passion for learning more about faraway people and places and how they live. Most of my foriegn documentary assignments include time spent documenting this context for the issues that I'm covering and I often take additional time to travel on my own as well.
