Crooked Tree Village is the oldest settlement in Belize. Established around logwood (used for indigo dye) and cashews, it sits on an island in the middle of the lagoon that makes up one of the most important migratory bird sanctuaries in the Americas.

My ongoing enthusiasiam for NGO and editorial assignments abroad comes from my concern for social and environmental issues worldwide, but also a more simple passion for learning more about faraway people and places and how they live. Most of my foriegn documentary assignments include time spent documenting this context for the issues that I'm covering and I often take additional time to travel on my own as well.
